For the first time ever, US streaming giant Netflix has bought the rights to distribute Iranian film ‘Wishbone’ globally.
The Public Relations Office of the film announced the news during a press release on Tuesday.
Globally acknowledged Iranian film ‘Wishbone’ directed by Ali Atshani compares and contrasts the ups and downs experienced by a fired coach who met a girl with whom he had a relationship several years ago.
Some of the film's accolades include taking home the awards for best feature film and best director of the year at the WIND International Film Festival in the US as well as Best Cinematic Film at the 3rd edition of the London Independent Filmmakers Association Festival.
It was also nominated for the Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Editing, Best Supporting Actor Male and Best Cinematography awards at the WIND International Film Festival.
Atshani’s film recently became an official section at the 2017 edition of the International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema Berlin in Germany.
The film’s cast includes Mitra Hajjar, Hossein Yari, Mahchehreh Khalili, Azadeh Mehdizadeh, Bita Atshani, Maziar Fallahi and Khashayar Rad among the others.
